At least, I hope it was - given Azzarello's skill as a writer, though, I'm inclined to believe it was. I've only read up until #6 of the WW series and really enjoyed it. You've said to me before, though, that it gets 'worse' later on...

Phantom Stranger just wasn't very well written - I think they should have got someone else to do it. Really intriguing premise (not to mention somewhat blasphemous, which I think adds potential), so it's a shame they weren't able to pull it off.

Nightwing was very good. I'm going to be looking out for Higgins's work in the future. Not sure what else he's done.

Supergirl #0 was better than the main series? That doesn't bode well for me...Civilian Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10978134983999101494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25675853.post-79124295438260979142012-09-28T21:36:33.597+01:002012-09-28T21:36:33.597+01:00For the price of the first three issues, you'l...For the price of the first three issues, you'll probably be able to get the collected books for the same or less (between 6 and 8 issues).

Talon's another I want to read but haven't got around to yet.Civilian Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10978134983999101494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25675853.post-33686232061793614072012-09-28T21:35:28.770+01:002012-09-28T21:35:28.770+01:00I have high hopes for that one - really enjoyed Fi...I have high hopes for that one - really enjoyed Fialkov's run on the series (the artwork's incredible, too), but haven't been able to find the issue. (I'm reliant on Barnes & Noble at the moment, because I can't rustle up the enthusiasm to go traipsing to the various comic stores after work.)Civilian Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10978134983999101494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25675853.post-21530729547794883252012-09-28T20:32:42.338+01:002012-09-28T20:32:42.338+01:00Aquaman #0 - Interesting title but far too short. ...Aquaman #0 - Interesting title but far too short. It could have done with a few more pages as Arthur presents himself to the people of Atlantis. But like I said to you on Twitter, maybe Johns is planning on revealing that stuff through the second year issues? I damn well hope so!

Batman #0 - Unimpressed. It feels too much like filler content, especially the backup story.

Earth 2 #0 - The best #0 title I've read as yet. This was simply fantastic. I want more Earth 2!!

Green Lantern #0 - I really liked this. Great way to add more diversity to the GL name than just white dudes and black dudes. The ending I'm uncertain about (the panel with Hal and Sinestro) but overall, a solid issue.

Justice League #0 - A much better book than the entire second arc of JL. Interesting ending, want to know more. Am I right in assuming that this also ties in to Phantom Stranger #0?

Nightwing #0 - Kyle Higgins proves he can pretty much stand toe-to-toe with Snyder. Yay for some Shiva goodness!

Phantom Stranger #0 - I didn't get the climax at all. The whole issue just didn't work for me.

Supergirl #0 - Kinda sad that this book was better than the entire Supergirl run so far for New 52!! I really liked this. Poor Zor-El.

Wonder Woman #0 - I'm confused, is this is a reprint/redo? The whole "classic" approach failed to work for me. Azzarello has been dropping the game on the series since #10 and it shows here too. I liked the art but the story was meh all the way.Abhinav Jainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12269856650563661938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25675853.post-54125758889771545292012-09-28T14:54:54.344+01:002012-09-28T14:54:54.344+01:00Great review, the only #0 title that I've read...Great review, the only #0 title that I've read is Scott Snyder's Batman, and that was unfortunately not as good as the main series. The one I'm thinking of picking up is Snyder's Talon, which tells the tale of a Talon from the Court of Owls who's escaped their grasp. Looks pretty awesome, but I'm getting up to the first three issues of the New 52 comics that I'm currently catching up on(Detective Comics, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Justice League, maybe Suicide Squad) before I buy any new titles. Aquaman, All Star Superman and Talon will probably be my purchases when I do so though, unless I want to try out some Marvel stuff. I, Vampire #0 is the best of the lot but most of them are between average and bad. Ghosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05160118520611754510noreply@blogger.com
